📠Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Optical Fiber Technician to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables and network systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in handling fiber installations for FTTH, telecom, or enterprise networks, with a strong focus on safety and precision.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain optical fiber cables for new and existing networks.
- Perform fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR testing.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on fiber optic connections.
- Read and interpret fiber network designs and layout drawings.
- Work with tools and test equipment like OTDR, Power Meter, Splicing Machine, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, test results, and daily reports.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols during fieldwork.
- Coordinate with network teams, site supervisors, and clients.
✅ Key Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in fiber splicing, testing, and fault location
- Knowledge of FTTH, FTTx, and telecom infrastructure
- Familiarity with OTDR, Power Meter, VFL, and other fiber test tools
- Ability to read fiber route maps and circuit diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina for field work, climbing poles, and working in outdoor conditions
- Awareness of safety standards in telecom/fiber installations
🎓 Qualifications:
- Minimum: 10th/12th pass with ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunications
- Certification in Optical Fiber Splicing or related field preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in fiber optic installation/maintenance
🕒 Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with frequent travel
- Work may include outdoor environments, rooftop, and underground cabling
- Rotational shifts and emergency call-outs may apply
