The Jal Mitra will be responsible for supporting water management and conservation initiatives at the community level. The role involves raising awareness about water conservation, assisting in the implementation of water resource management programs, and promoting sustainable practices. The Jal Mitra will act as a liaison between the community and authorities, ensuring active participation and the success of water-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

1) Community Engagement:

• Conduct awareness programs on water conservation and sustainable practices.
• Mobilize local communities to participate in water resource management activities.
• Identify water-related challenges faced by the community and communicate them to relevant authorities.

2) Water Resource Management:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of watershed management, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge projects.
• Monitor and report the status of water bodies, groundwater levels, and water quality in the region.

Capacity Building:

• Train and empower local groups and volunteers in water management practices.
• Organize workshops and campaigns for schoolchildren, farmers, and women’s groups.
