An Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) is responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing basic life support (BLS) to patients in need, and safely transporting them to medical facilities. EMT-Bs work in high-stress environments, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure rapid, effective, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Emergency Response & Patient Care:

• Respond promptly to emergency calls as dispatched.
• Assess the medical condition of patients and determine appropriate emergency care.
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) including CPR, bleeding control, airway management, oxygen administration, and spinal immobilization.

2) Safe Patient Transport:

• Load and transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition.
• Communicate with hospital personnel to provide patient information en route.

3) Equipment & Documentation:

• Maintain, clean, and restock ambulances and medical equipment after each use.
• Accurately document patient care reports, including vital signs, medical history, and treatment provided.

4) Teamwork & Communication:

• Work effectively with other EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and law enforcement personnel.
• Provide clear and concise reports to healthcare providers and supervisors.
