Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (HSS/Q2301) Trainer

Role Summary
The EMT-Basic Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to candidates in line with the Healthcare Sector Skill Council’s curriculum for the HSS/Q2301 qualification pack. The trainer will counsel candidates, monitor their progress, manage daily reporting, and ensure a high pass rate and placement readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Counselling:
- Guide and counsel prospective trainees about the EMT-Basic course, its career prospects, and commitment required.
- Help candidates understand assessment and certification processes.

- Training Delivery:
- Deliver theoretical and practical training as per the module curriculum designed by the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) for HSS/Q2301.
- Use participatory, learner-centered methods and ensure adherence to training schedule.

- Attendance Monitoring:
- Track daily attendance of trainees, highlight and address absenteeism.
- Maintain attendance records as per project guidelines.

- Reporting / MIS:
- Prepare and submit daily MIS (Management Information System) reports on progress, attendance, and any training issues.
- Track key performance indicators (KPI) set by the project.

- Pre-Assessment:
- Conduct pre-assessments to evaluate trainee readiness and baseline knowledge/skills.
- Use assessment outcomes to tailor training as needed.

- Assessment & Certification Preparation:
- Prepare candidates for formal assessment and certification by coordinating mock tests, revision sessions, and practical drills.
- Liaise with assessment agencies as required.

- Motivation & Placement Support:
- Encourage and motivate candidates to strive for high grades and certification success.
- Provide guidance and support in preparing for placement: interview preparation, resume building, professional behavior, etc.

- Result Guarantee:
- Strive to achieve at least a 95% result rate for candidates (i.e., pass certification).
- Identify and support under-performing students with remedial plans or extra coaching.

Trainer Education & Qualification (per NSQF & HSSC Guidelines)
Based on the HSSC’s model curriculum for EMT-Basic (HSS/Q2301):
- Educational Qualification:
- MD / DNB (Emergency Medicine)
- Medical Graduate (MBBS / BAMS / BHMS)
- PhD (Nursing), M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
- Diploma (GNM) or Certificate EMT also acceptable for certain cases.
- MD / DNB (Emergency Medicine)
- Certification:
- Trainer should be ToT (Trainer of Trainers) certified, specifically for the Trainer role mapped to QP: “SSC/1402” (Healthcare SSC). As per the model curriculum, a minimum score of 90% is recommended.
- Domain certification in Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (HSS/Q2301), version 1.0 with minimum required score (e.g., 85%) as per HSSC curriculum.
- Trainer should be ToT (Trainer of Trainers) certified, specifically for the Trainer role mapped to QP: “SSC/1402” (Healthcare SSC). As per the model curriculum, a minimum score of 90% is recommended.
Experience
- Experience in teaching/training EMT course (HSS/Q2301) is required.
- For Level-4 certified EMT-Basic trainers: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- For Level-5 certified EMT-Advanced (HSS/Q2302) trainers (if relevant): At least 3 years’ experience.
- Clinical / sector-specific experience in emergency medicine is highly desired (e.g., working in Emergency Department, EMS, ambulance operations). The model curriculum suggests prior practical exposure.

- 95% or higher pass rate in certification assessments (as guaranteed in role).
- Consistent daily attendance reporting (MIS).
- High candidate satisfaction (counselling + training delivery).
- Placement support leading to successful job outcomes.
- Timeliness and quality of pre-assessments and certification preparation.
Application Process
- Interested candidates should submit their CV, relevant certificates (ToT, EMT qualification), and a short cover letter outlining their teaching / clinical experience.
- Interview will be conducted online.
- Selected trainer will be posted in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, for the duration of the UPSDM project.
