Job Overview:
A Sampling Tailor is responsible for developing garment samples according to buyers’ specifications in the apparel industry. The role involves cutting, stitching, and finishing garments with precision while ensuring high-quality standards. The candidate should have a deep understanding of measurements, garment styles, components, sampling procedures, and apparel production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop garment samples as per buyers’ specifications and design requirements.
- Perform fabric cutting operations and stitch garments with accuracy and neatness.
- Work with different garment styles, materials, and trims.
- Ensure proper fit, finish, and quality of the samples produced.
- Understand and interpret design sketches and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with designers and pattern masters for accurate sample development.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness at the workstation.
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards during production.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, stitching, and finishing.
- Skilled in operating various types of sewing machines.
- Good understanding of measurements, fabric behavior, and trimming.
- Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Ability to work with different fabrics, designs, and sample specifications.
- Teamwork, discipline, and time management skills.
