Job Title: Trainer – General Duty Assistant (HSS/Q5101)

Location: Guwahati, Assam (Interview mode: Online)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated trainer to deliver training for the job role of General Duty Assistant (QP Code: HSS/Q5101, NSQF Level 4). The trainer will be responsible for counselling candidates, delivering the curriculum prepared by the relevant Sector Skill Council, monitoring attendance and MIS reporting, conducting pre-assessments, preparing candidates for certification and placement, and motivating them to achieve excellent results (95% result guarantee).


Key Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective candidates, explain the training programme, eligibility, career pathways and motivate them to join.
  • Deliver training sessions as per the module/curriculum designed by the relevant Sector Skill Council (Healthcare Sector Skill Council) for the HSS/Q5101 job role.
  • Monitor candidate attendance regularly and ensure required compliance.
  • Maintain daily MIS reports (attendance, performance, issues, progress) and submit to programme coordinator.
  • Conduct pre-assessments to gauge learners’ readiness and baseline competency.
  • Prepare candidates for assessment and certification (theory + practical) under the QP HSS/Q5101.
  • Continuously motivate learners for achieving high grades and ensure they are job-ready, encouraging placement outcomes.
  • Work toward achieving 95% result guarantee: i.e., 95% of enrolled candidates successfully complete certification with required grades.
  • Liaise with assessment & certification agencies, ensure trainees meet criteria, readiness, documentation.
  • Provide feedback, remedial support for learners needing extra help.
  • Maintain training infrastructure, tools, records, ensure quality of training delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with placement cell / industry partners to facilitate employment opportunities for candidates.

Trainer Education, Qualification & Experience (as per NSQF / QP requirements)

Based on the Model Curriculum / Qualification Pack for HSS/Q5101:

  • Job role is mapped to NSQF Level 4.
  • According to the Model Curriculum for HSS/Q5101, typical trainer prerequisites:
    • Minimum educational qualification: B.Sc. (Nursing) with 1 year experience; GNM with 3 years’ experience; or NSQF Level 4 certified “General Duty Assistant” with 6 years site experience.
    • Domain certification: Trainer must hold domain certification for job role “General Duty Assistant (HSS/Q5101)” with minimum score (e.g., 80-85%).
    • Platform certification: (Recommended) Trainer holds certification for “Trainer (VET & Skills)” mapped to relevant qualification pack (e.g., SSC/Q1402 or MEP/Q2601) with minimum score.
    • Experience: As above (site/industry experience) plus prior training delivery experience would be an advantage.

Desired Qualification / Experience (for this role at AISECT):

  • Bachelor in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing OR General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on relevant healthcare site/clinical experience (if GNM) or 1 year (if B.Sc. Nursing).
  • OR if qualified as General Duty Assistant (HSS/Q5101) certified with at least 6 years site experience.
  • Must be TOT (Trainer of Trainers) certified by the relevant Sector Skill Council / recognized body.
  • Must have domain certification for HSS/Q5101 job role (General Duty Assistant) with required pass score (e.g., ≥80%).
  • Prior experience in delivering skills training, monitoring MIS, handling assessments & certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work with youth, motivate learners, and ensure placement outcomes.

  • Adaptability to work in the training ecosystem (classroom, simulation lab, online/hybrid delivery).
  • Ability to motivate and maintain discipline to achieve the 95% result target.

Working Conditions

  • Primary location: Guwahati, Assam training Centre (or as designated by AISECT).
  • Interview mode: Online (initial screening) – online interview followed by selection.
  • Role may require working beyond standard hours during assessments, placement drives, batch closures etc.
  • The trainer will work closely with training Centre staff, assessment agencies, placement cell and management.
