Location: District Level (Across Schools)
Employment Type: Contractual (2 Years, Extendable Based on Performance)


About the Organization:

The Scouts/Guide’s Organization is dedicated to developing leadership, discipline, and moral values among boys and girls through structured Scouts and Guides training programs. The organization is inviting applications for the post of Counsellor at the district level to manage, support, and provide qualified manpower and teaching staff school-wise for imparting Scouts and Guides training.


Position Overview:

The Counsellor will play a key role in providing guidance, emotional support, and motivation to students participating in Scouts and Guides programs. The ideal candidate will assess student needs, facilitate personal and academic development, and coordinate with schools and teachers to ensure effective training and mentorship.


Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum Graduate in any discipline (Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or Counselling preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Counsellor (school, career, or mental health).
  • Good knowledge of counselling methods, student engagement, and Scouts/Guides program management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Assessment & Planning:

  • Evaluate student needs, challenges, and aspirations through assessments and discussions.
  • Develop and implement individualized guidance and support plans.

2. Therapeutic & Guidance Techniques:

  • Conduct counselling sessions using evidence-based approaches to improve student wellbeing and development.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family sessions when required.

3. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Prepare periodic reports and share feedback with school management and the organization.

4. Crisis Intervention:

  • Provide timely support and intervention in crisis situations to ensure student safety and stability.

5. Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with teachers, parents, and school administration to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in managing teaching staff and manpower assigned for Scouts/Guides programs.

6. Client-Centered Support:

  • Empower students to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through counselling and activities.

Specialized Counselling Areas:

• Mental Health Counselling: Promote mental wellness, coping strategies, and resilience.
• School Counselling: Address academic, behavioral, and social issues; provide career guidance and conflict resolution.
• Career Counselling: Assess student interests and help them explore academic and vocational pathways.
