Position Summary

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering training for the Two-Wheeler Service Assistant (ASC / Q1423) qualification pack as per the curriculum defined by the relevant Sector Skill Council (SSC). The Trainer must be TOT (Training of Trainers) certified by the respective SSC and meet the educational, qualification, and experience norms as prescribed under the NSQF framework for trainer roles. The Trainer will also counsel, monitor, assess, and support candidates through to certification and placement, ensuring high success rates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Counselling & Induction
   • Conduct pre-training counselling sessions for prospective candidates, explaining course content, expectations, outcomes, and certification/placement prospects.
   • Assist in screening/selection decisions and motivate candidates to enroll in the program.
2. Training Delivery
   • Deliver training sessions strictly as per the module curriculum / syllabus designed by the SSC (for Q1423, Two-Wheeler Service Assistant).
   • Use appropriate adult learning methodologies, tools, and aids (practical demonstrations, simulations, group exercises, etc.).
   • Ensure domain knowledge (technical skills) plus soft skills / life skills / professional skills as required by the curriculum.
3. Attendance & Participation Monitoring
   • Monitor candidate attendance, punctuality, participation, and engagement.
   • Take corrective actions (reminders, extra sessions) for low-attendance or lagging participants.
4. Daily MIS & Reporting
   • Maintain and submit daily MIS (Management Information System) reports (attendance, progress, issues, etc.).
   • Flag any concerns or deviations early to the project / centre management.
5. Pre-Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluation
   • Conduct pre-assessments (baseline tests) to gauge candidate starting level.
   • Use results to customize pacing, remedial sessions, or differentiated instruction.
6. Assessment & Certification Readiness
   • Prepare candidates for SSC / assessment agency assessments (both domain and theoretical parts).
   • Conduct mock tests, revision sessions, doubt clearing, and assessment drills.
7. Motivation & Placement Support
   • Continuously motivate students toward good performance and high grades (certification).
   • Guide on career pathways, placement opportunities, resume prep, and interview readiness.
   • Liaise with placement agencies / employers where relevant.
8. Result Ownership & Guarantee
   • Aim to deliver at least 95% pass / certification success rate per batch.
   • Analyze reasons for non-performers, devise remedial strategies, and ensure performance improvement.

Educational Qualification, Certification & Experience Requirements

The Trainer must comply with norms under NSQF / SSC / NSDC for trainer roles. Below is a general guideline; you should verify the specific SSC (for automotive / two-wheeler) QP / NOS for exact criteria:

Required

• TOT Certification (Training of Trainers) from the relevant Sector Skill Council. This ensures the trainer is certified to deliver training under the SSC’s curriculum.
• Educational Qualification: Minimum diploma /ITI / equivalent in Automotive / Mechanical / Electrical / Two-wheeler / Motor Vehicle / Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
• Industry Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in a relevant two-wheeler / automotive repair / service workshop environment (hands-on technical experience).
• Training Experience: Prior experience of having delivered vocational training in similar job roles / sectors (preferably in SSC / NSQF aligned environment).
• Competencies:
  • Strong technical knowledge of two-wheeler service / repair.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) in local language and English.
  • Comfortable using digital tools / LMS / assessment platforms.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate underprivileged candidates.
  • Soft skills & life skills understanding (for non-technical candidate support).

Preferred / Desirable

• Worked earlier as a Skill India / SSC training partner / vocational training institute trainer.
• Prior record of achieving high pass / placement results.
• Certification or training in pedagogy or adult learning.
• Familiarity with assessment / certification processes under SSC / NSDC.

Working Conditions & Other Details

• The role will require full-time commitment for the batch duration, which may include extra hours for remedial sessions, mock assessments, or weekends if required.
• The Trainer must be flexible to adjust training pace based on learner needs.
• All course materials, tools, consumables, assessment instruments, etc., will be provided by the project / training partner.
• The Trainer will coordinate closely with project / centre management, SSC / assessment agencies, and other stakeholders.
