Job Role

The Sales Officer will be responsible for identifying potential villages and customers, sourcing new clients, managing loan cycles, ensuring timely repayment, and conducting financial literacy campaigns. The role requires close interaction with rural communities to promote financial inclusion, build customer trust, and achieve business growth targets of the bank.


Key Responsibilities

1. Identification of Villages / Customers

  • Identify potential villages based on customer behavior, repayment history, connectivity, population, and political stability.
  • Assess rural markets to determine credit and business potential.

2. Sourcing

  • Identify and assess creditworthiness of customers in allotted villages.
  • Assist in forming groups of 4–5 rural women from similar socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Complete customer onboarding and processing activities:
    • Data entry of customer and household (QDE & DDE).
    • Application form filling.
  • Conduct training sessions on product features, repayment norms, and group responsibilities.
  • Manage end-to-end customer lifecycle including sourcing, servicing, and renewals.
  • Drive repeat loan renewals and encourage referrals from existing customers.
  • Educate customers on the importance of timely repayments and good credit history.
  • Handle customer queries and grievances effectively.

3. Repayment

  • Support repayment planning and monitoring activities.
  • Create awareness about credit scores and repayment discipline.
  • Facilitate death claim settlements and insurance document updates.
  • Grow customer base with support of active and reliable clients.

4. Financial Literacy & Awareness Activities

  • Conduct financial inclusion activities and literacy campaigns.
  • Organize awareness programs on banking and financial products.
  • Assist in opening PMJDY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana) accounts.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of sales processes, credit assessment, and customer relationship management.
  • Good understanding of rural markets and financial inclusion initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (local language proficiency preferred).
  • Ability to build trust and long-term customer relationships.
  • Problem-solving attitude with focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in computer applications and data entry.
