Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with strong mechanical engineering knowledge, proven expertise in CAD tools, and the ability to design and refine mechanical components for industrial transmission systems. The role involves managing technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drawing Management: Create, refine, and manage detailed mechanical part and assembly drawings.
• Project Data Handling: Manage drawings, design issues, and project data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Meet design-related requirements of other departments within project schedules.
• Design Investigations: Scope and manage investigations into design features for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Component Development: Design and refine complex mechanical components, including sourcing materials and defining performance parameters.
• Documentation: Prepare technical documents to convey design aspects to clients, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Data Control: Maintain and control design data files to ensure version accuracy and traceability.
• Root Cause Analysis: Conduct failure investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Testing & Support: Guide testing activities and provide technical support to production and service teams.
• Client Communication: Interact directly with clients to address design queries, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with project goals.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances, and material selection.
• Knowledge of gearboxes, bearings, and transmission systems preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create detailed technical drawings.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
