A General Duty Assistant (GDA) is responsible for providing basic care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort and hygiene, and assisting healthcare professionals in day-to-day operations. GDAs play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.

2) Monitor and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional conditions to nursing staff.

3) Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient surroundings.

4) Support nurses and doctors during medical procedures and examinations.

5) Prepare and serve meals or help with feeding patients as needed.

6) Take and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.

7) Maintain proper documentation of patient care activities.

8) Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety procedures.
