The Sampling Tailor is responsible for creating, altering, and modifying prototype garments, including samples, fittings, and test garments for new product designs. This role involves working closely with the design and production teams to bring conceptual designs into physical form, ensuring that garments meet specifications for fit, style, and quality before they go into mass production. The ideal candidate should possess a strong eye for detail, expert sewing and tailoring skills, and a deep understanding of garment construction.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Sample Creation: Construct prototypes and initial samples based on design specifications provided by the design team. Ensure the garment fits the design concept, fabric selection, and desired finish.

2) Fittings: Participate in sample fittings, working with the design team to assess fit, drape, and overall appearance. Make necessary adjustments to achieve the correct fit and finish.

3) Alterations & Adjustments: Modify patterns, adjust the garment construction, and make changes as needed to improve the design, fit, or styling. This may include resizing, shortening, or lengthening garments.

4) Fabric Knowledge: Demonstrate expertise in different fabric types, trims, and sewing techniques, ensuring appropriate choices for the garment and design intent.
